Broadcaster Dex has expressed his position regarding reports of being cast in the drama 'Men of the Harem'.
On the 19th, Dex's agency Kick the Hurdle Studio stated to Maeil Business Star Today, "We have received the project proposal, but nothing has been decided."
On the same day, a media outlet reported that Dex would be joining the drama 'Men of the Harem'. However, Dex's side stated, "There has not been a meeting with the production company yet," and "It is not confirmed that he will appear."
'Men of the Harem' is based on a Naver web novel and tells the story of Empress Ratil of the Tarium Empire, who brings in male concubines to maintain her position as emperor, set in a court romance fantasy.
Director Lee Eung-bok, known for directing 'Sweet Home 2', 'Sweet Home 3', 'Mr. Sunshine', and 'Goblin', is at the helm, while writer Hwang Jin-young, who penned the MBC drama 'Lovers', is contributing, and Studio Dragon is in charge of production.
Previously, actress Suzy was reported to be in consideration for the role of the protagonist Ratil.
Dex, a former UDT member, gained recognition through Wave's 'Blood Game' and Netflix's 'Solo Hell 2'. He has since appeared in MBC's 'The Universe's Star' series and tvN's 'Sisters' Direct Delivery', receiving much love.
Last year, Dex expanded his acting range with the film 'Tarot' and will appear in the ENA drama 'I Shopping', which premieres on July 21.
