The legendary sports animation that was loved by the entire nation is back on the big screen after 40 years.
The story of track star 'Na Ye-ri', who dominated the nation with her running, and the running genius 'Hani' as they become high school students and participate in a 'street competition', showcasing their rivalry and growth. This is the return of 'Bad Girl: Run Hani', with the title of youth national representative at stake, and a heart-pounding race.
Na Ye-ri reunites with Hani, a former gold medalist who she has only lost to once, at the newly transferred Bitnari High School. The two participate in a special event called 'Street Run' in the city alleys, where they face off against the rising star 'Joo Nabi', leading to a fierce competition between the determined Na Ye-ri and her eternal rival Hani.
With the cheerful and bold runner Hani, her long-time rival Na Ye-ri, and the new dark horse Joo Nabi joining in, the story unfolds with courage to overcome difficulties, friendship that embraces each other, and a message of love that encompasses the world.
In particular, the hidden narrative of Na Ye-ri, who was only consumed as a 'villain' in the original work, is revealed, sparking interest as it transcends nostalgia and presents a fierce competition and deep growth drama that resonates with a new generation.
Significant effort was put into the OST. The participation of representative artists from South Korea in songs like 'Vanishing Point', 'Crosswalk', and 'Shining Droplets of Sweat' enhances the immersion with their messages and iconic scenes.
The song 'Vanishing Point', featuring the emotional vocals of Yoon Min from Touched, captures Na Ye-ri's growth as she runs endlessly towards her dreams, with lyrics like "The moment I reach the last vanishing point" and "I just run without regrets." It intertwines with her narrative of overcoming a slump despite holding the title of youth national representative.
The song 'Crosswalk', sung by 'Nobrain' member Hwang Hyun-seong, conveys deep resonance with lyrics like "The small shining light inside me that I desperately searched for," capturing the moments of conflict and reconciliation between Hani and Na Ye-ri.
The song 'Shining Droplets of Sweat', sung by Lovelyz's Ryu Su-jeong, sings of the passion and hope of youth with lyrics like "Today we will soar, into the shining droplets of sweat."
The production was overseen by Playcan Co., Ltd., which handled planning, production, screenplay, producing, and music, while Studio Goindol and Red Dog Culture House produced the animation, with Big Pine Animation Studio, W.A.G.E, and Studio Animal participating in co-production.
