Chef Shin Jong-cheol, who created the popular mango bingsu at Shilla Hotel, known as a legendary bingsu, will appear on ‘Pook Da Haeng’.
In the MBC entertainment program ‘Pook Da Haeng’ (directed by Kim Myung-jin, Kim Moon-seop, Shin Hyun-bin, Lee Jun-beom, written by Kwon Jeong-hee, hereafter ‘Pook Da Haeng’), the story of CEO Ahn Jung-hwan and the sports team members Lee Dae-ho, Lee Dae-hyung, Lee Dae-eun, and Kim Nam-il operating a deserted island restaurant will be depicted. In the studio, Boom, Chef Jung Ho-young, Koyote Shin Ji, and Golden Child Lee Jang-jun will be watching them.
On this day, Chef Shin Jong-cheol, the creator of Shilla Hotel's signature dessert mango bingsu and known as the ‘God of Buffet’ for developing 5-star hotel buffet menus, will take on the role of the main chef at the deserted island restaurant. He cannot hide his awkward expression when faced with the 0.5-star deserted island kitchen for the first time. Chef Shin Jong-cheol says, “I’ve never seen a kitchen like this in my 34 years of cooking,” and adds, “The only proper thing here is my knife,” which surprises Ahn Jung-hwan.
However, Chef Shin Jong-cheol soon showcases his skills and ideas as a 5-star hotel chef, challenging himself to create a one-of-a-kind bingsu. He also mentions, “I have my own kick,” and is expected to reveal his secret to making delicious bingsu. This raises curiosity about what legendary bingsu the creator of the legendary mango bingsu will present.
Next, Chef Shin Jong-cheol will recreate the most popular menu item from 5-star hotels at the deserted island restaurant. It is said to be so popular that it sells several tons a day. Lee Dae-ho, who is from Busan, praised the seafood dish he presented, saying, “It’s the best seafood dish I’ve had in my 40 years of life,” which heightens expectations.
