Actor Lee Hee-jun will present the exhibition 'Edited Records' in collaboration with artist Kun, continuing his creative journey that transcends the boundaries of actor, director, and artist.
'Edited Records' begins with two creators, who have worked in different genres, summoning fragments of scenes, words, images, and emotions they have collected in their own ways onto the table. The collected records are not merely a list but are restructured through 'editing' to acquire a new layer of sensibility, exploring the traces of time, identity, and existence that contemporary art questions.
In particular, this exhibition highlights Lee Hee-jun's challenge as a multifaceted creator. He has showcased intense performances across a wide range of genres through Netflix series 'Bad Relationship', 'Murderer O Dilemma', and his recent work 'Nine Puzzle', as well as the film 'Gure Gure'. He has also proven his potential as a director with his film 'Rectangle, Triangle', for which he wrote the script and directed with a sensuous approach. This exhibition, which extends from acting and directing to art, allows us to gauge how far Lee Hee-jun's creative spectrum can expand.
In this exhibition, Lee Hee-jun goes beyond being a mere participant; he visualizes narratives based on the sensibility and scene interpretation he has accumulated as an actor, attempting a new point as an artist. His journey, traversing stages, screens, and galleries, proves that art can organically expand without being confined to specific genres.
Meanwhile, the exhibition in which Lee Hee-jun participates as an artist will be held at Hoard Gallery from July 4 to August 6.
