Actress Joihyun revealed the reason for choosing 'The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl'.
On the afternoon of the 17th, an online production presentation for tvN's new Monday-Tuesday drama 'The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl' (directed by Kim Yong-wan, written by Yang Ji-hoon, planned by CJ ENM, produced by Studio Dragon, Dexter Pictures, and Eo Content Group) was held. The event was attended by director Kim Yong-wan, as well as actors Joihyun, Choo Young-woo, Cha Kang-yoon, and Choo Ja-hyun.
Joihyun plays Park Seong-a, a high school shaman who defies fate for her first love.
Regarding her decision to choose 'The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl', Joihyun said, "I have a lot of interest in shamanism. At the time I was really interested, the script for this work came in. I thought it was fate."
Joihyun expressed that she resonated with the character Park Seong-a, who lives a double life as a high school student by day and an MZ shaman by night, saying, "I thought that if I could do this well as an actress, it would be an opportunity for me to grow, so I decided to take on this project."
Joihyun, who practiced for three months for the shaman role, said, "I learned and practiced how to perform rituals with a real shaman consultant, asking about the order and manner of speaking."
Based on the popular webtoon of the same name, 'The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl' is a bold first love rescue romance between a boy with a fatal destiny and a shaman girl trying to prevent it, set in the vibrant world of eighteen-year-olds.
'The Cowherd and the Weaver Girl' will premiere on the 23rd at 8:50 PM.
