Former swimmer Park Tae-hwan shared his increased life satisfaction after retirement.

On the 6th, KBS2’s ‘New Menu Launch Pyeon Restaurant’ (hereinafter ‘Pyeon Restaurant’) depicted the daily life of Park Tae-hwan, who joined as a new chef.

On that day, Park Tae-hwan sprinkled cheese generously in a frying pan, then added sautéed sausage, onion, and bell pepper. After placing bread on top, he caught attention by doing squats while waiting for the melted cheese to stick to the bread. The ‘Pyeon Restaurant’ panelists exclaimed, “That’s why he doesn’t gain weight,” and “That’s why his body fat percentage is 8%.”

The pizza made with 4 slices of bread received applause from the ‘Pyeon Restaurant’ panelists. Lee Yeon-bok praised, “If you can make this kind of pizza with 4 slices of bread, it’s a gold medal at a real pizzeria.”

Regarding the biggest change after retirement, Park Tae-hwan said, “When I was active, I had a time-related occupational disease. Even when I ate, I had to eat quickly and think about what to do next. But now I don’t have to do that. It’s nice to do nothing, but the happiest times are when I can eat delicious food without any time restrictions.”

Park Tae-hwan reminisced, “Every day was the same during my active years. I woke up at 4 AM and trained at 5 AM for decades.” Boom empathized, “That must have been really tough.”

After watching Park Tae-hwan’s eating video, Han-hae said, “Park Tae-hwan looks so happy right now.” Park Tae-hwan replied, “These days, my daily life is all about eating. Just eating makes me happy.”

Boom commented, “Park Tae-hwan has completely mastered the bread.” He continued, “I will forever cherish the image of him swimming in the air for KBS. It’s such a classic scene,” jokingly. To this, Park Tae-hwan laughed and said, “It was my first time swimming outside of water.”
