‘Brother, Chat’ sheds light on the shadows of crime, from stalking within families to the realities of juvenile crime.
In the 10th episode of the Wave X E Channel original web entertainment ‘Brother, Chat’, which will be released on the 6th, Detective Cha Ok-joo from the Women and Youth Division of the Seocheon Police Station will appear to discuss everything about stalking crimes and the case of teenagers involved in ‘runaway gang assaults’ that showcases the ‘Iron Man’ efforts of the Seocheon Police Station.
Detective Cha Ok-joo is known for solving the family murder case and the delusional murder case in Season 3 of ‘Brave Detectives’, and along with detectives Bang Ji-hyun and Lee Gyeon-soo, who protect Seocheon in South Chungcheong Province, they are referred to as the ‘Avengers’. On this day, she appears alone at the recording site to share updates about them. Notably, after moving from the violent crimes unit to the women and youth division, she humorously mentions, “The clientele has changed compared to the violent crimes team.”
Detective Cha Ok-joo addresses the ‘stalking crimes’ that we may not be well aware of. While it is often thought to occur mainly between men and women, she states that “there is no defined relationship regarding stalking.” She shares a story of parents suffering due to a son addicted to cyber gambling, indicating that stalking can even occur between parents and children. Although they reported their son for trespassing and threats, the parents still had many concerns. However, Detective Cha emphasizes that “stalking charges can be established even among family members.”
She also provides solutions to a person who emailed the production team of ‘Brother, Chat’. After hearing the circumstances of the person through a phone connection, Detective Cha and Professor Kwon Il-yong seriously analyze the situation and offer practical response measures, drawing attention. During this process, MC Han Sang-jin also shares his own experience of being a stalking victim. He confesses, “I had no choice but to change the last digits of my phone number designated for my wedding anniversary.”
Additionally, the behind-the-scenes of the shocking family murder case that left ‘Brave Detectives’ in disbelief will be revealed. The confession of the son who murdered his father leads to additional murder admissions, uncovering the unimaginable details of the crime. Alongside this, Detective Cha Ok-joo will also reveal the realities of the ‘gang assaults’ committed by teenage runaway groups, including the threats and violence surrounding the incidents.
Meanwhile, ‘Brother, Chat’, the first digital spin-off of ‘Brave Detectives’, is exclusively pre-released on Wave every Friday at 5 PM, and can be watched for free on the E Channel YouTube channel at 7 PM on Fridays. Additionally, it has been airing on E Channel every Monday at 6 PM since June 2, allowing viewers to catch it alongside ‘Brave Detectives’ on TV.
