Actor Oh Chang-seok mentioned the appeal of playing a villain.

On the morning of the 5th, a press conference for MBC's new daily drama "The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun" was held at the new MBC building in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Attendees included Jang Shin-young, Seo Ha-joon, Yoon Ah-jung, Oh Chang-seok, Lee Ru-da, and PD Kim Jin-hyung.

"The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun" depicts a world where victims turn into perpetrators, showcasing a woman's desperate revenge against a conglomerate in the name of her only daughter.

Director Kim Jin-hyung, known for "Heaven's Connection" and "The Neighboring Villain," collaborated with writer Seol Kyung-eun, who has penned works like "Hide and Seek" and "The Room of Two Women."

Oh Chang-seok stated, "Three years ago, while filming 'The Witch's Game,' I let go of a lot. I have experienced letting go of a girlfriend and a wife. In that sense, I have been trained."

He continued, "I played a villain for the first time in 'The Witch's Game.' I felt a thrill as a character who is a scoundrel. I can play in front of the camera. The possibilities for a villain are greater. A hero is always suffering, frustrating, and limited, while a villain is refreshing. I enjoyed the fun of being a villain, fighting, shouting, and running around."

He added, "I need to express a different color of evil. I think I've matured into a more sophisticated villain over the past three years. In life, there aren't many opportunities to shout loudly. But in a drama, I can do that a lot."

"The Woman Who Swallowed the Sun" will premiere on the 9th at 7:05 PM.
