Director Hyun Sol-ip talked about the appearance of basketball legends.
On the 22nd, a production presentation for the MBC two-part drama ‘The Malicious Commenter of Director Maeng’ was held at the new MBC building in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. Attendees included Park Sung-woong, Park Soo-oh, and Director Hyun Sol-ip.
‘The Malicious Commenter of Director Maeng’ depicts a two-man game comedy where pro basketball coach Maeng Gong, facing expulsion due to poor performance, teams up with his malicious commenter, Hwa-jin, for the sake of the team's performance. It is based on a script that won the Grand Prize at the 2024 MBC Script Contest.
This work features a large number of basketball legends. Moon Kyung-eun, Woo Ji-won, Yang Dong-geun, Jo Sung-min, and Eun Hee-seok are among those who have drawn attention.
Director Hyun Sol-ip explained, "Many people helped us with special appearances. Director Moon Kyung-eun, Director Yang Dong-geun, and Coach Jo Sung-geun came. What they all said in common was, 'I hope KBL receives more attention and that it helps in its development.'”
He added, "I was really surprised that there were hardly any NGs on set. While filming basketball games, it was fascinating and fun to see them there. The shooting went smoothly."
‘The Malicious Commenter of Director Maeng’ will premiere on the 23rd at 10 PM.
