Mixed martial arts fighter Choo Sung-hoon revealed that he had a fight with his wife, top Japanese model Yano Shiho, after revealing their home.
In the episode of MBC’s ‘Save Me! Homes’ (hereafter ‘Homes’) airing on the 22nd, mixed martial artist and broadcaster Choo Sung-hoon and Joo Woo-jae will embark on a local exploration in Osaka, Japan.
This episode will mark the first time ‘Homes’ goes abroad for a ‘global local exploration’. The ‘local exploration’ involves touring various regions with locals, showcasing diverse attractions each time.
The first protagonist of the ‘Global Local Exploration’ is broadcaster Choo Sung-hoon, who is currently radiating charm as a ‘petite middle-aged man’, taking broadcaster Joo Woo-jae to his hometown of Osaka, Japan. They will reveal not only local properties but also an unprecedented variety of delicious food options.
Before the exploration begins, the studio coordinators warmly welcome Choo Sung-hoon, who is making his first appearance on ‘Homes’. Kim Sook asks Choo Sung-hoon the official married man question on ‘Homes’: “Is there a space for you in the house?” He humorously responds, “I left everything to my wife Yano Shiho, so there isn’t one.” He adds, “If I have something to think about, love thinks alone in the room and then comes out,” which evokes sympathy.
Choo Sung-hoon, who recently drew attention by revealing his Osaka home on his personal channel, confessed, “After revealing the house, I really fought with my wife. She told me to completely delete my channel,” and added, “These days, since my channel is doing so well, she jokingly says, ‘Should I come out now?’” which brings laughter.
The first location of the Osaka global local exploration was Ikuno Ward in Osaka, Japan. Choo Sung-hoon stated, “It’s a neighborhood located 15 minutes from downtown Osaka. I was born and raised here.” He continued, “Ikuno Ward has a Korea Town, so there are many Korean residents and international students.”
While exploring the neighborhood with Joo Woo-jae, Choo Sung-hoon reminisced in front of a park, saying, “I played baseball here for a short time during my childhood. My family was struggling financially, so I had to give up baseball because I couldn’t afford the equipment.” He then discovered the playground and kindergarten where he used to play as a child, expressing that every time he comes back to his hometown during tough times, he feels a renewed determination to work hard.
Entering another alley, Choo Sung-hoon stops in front of a demolished house site. He had recently shared on social media that the house he lived in during his childhood had been demolished. This place is filled with precious memories from when he was born until he was 12 years old, and he tearfully says, “Seeing it with my own eyes makes my heart feel empty.”
He then asks the production team for three minutes, taking off his hat and glasses to reflect. This raises curiosity about what story might be hidden within Choo Sung-hoon.
The ‘Osaka Global Local Exploration’ will be aired on the 22nd at 10 PM on MBC’s ‘Save Me! Homes’.
