On this day, Hwang Jung-eum visited the airport to pick up her father along with her two sons, Wang-sik and Gang-sik. Hwang Jung-eum said about her father, “He has been a pillar that has supported me through my difficult life in the entertainment industry.”
Hwang Jung-eum mentioned, “My dad moved to Jeju Island because of me. During a tough time, I went down to Jeju with Wang-sik to cool off for a bit, but it was hard raising a child alone there. That’s when my dad came to help.” She continued, “My dad came to help me, and he really suited Jeju. So, he stayed in Jeju while I came to Seoul. It’s already been five years since he started living in Jeju.”
Hwang Jung-eum enjoyed a date with her father, who came from Jeju. However, the first place they headed to was an ophthalmology clinic. It turned out that her father had poor eyesight and needed to get check-ups every three months.
The examination results showed that her father’s left eye was currently in the late stage of glaucoma. Hwang Jung-eum said, “About 4-5 years ago, I saw my dad using a card at the ophthalmology clinic and pharmacy, and since there were many hospital records, I asked him about it. When I asked, ‘What’s wrong?’ he said, ‘I just had a simple procedure.’ But it turned out it was surgery, not just a procedure.”
After finishing the ophthalmology appointment, Hwang Jung-eum and her father headed to a boutique. Hwang Jung-eum said, “I really like that my dad dresses stylishly. I always give him clothes and cash for his birthday or Parents’ Day.”
Her father wanted a simple T-shirt for summer, but Hwang Jung-eum encouraged him to try on several outfits. In the end, Hwang Jung-eum bought a total of seven outfits, spending 2.71 million won, surprising everyone.
Later, Hwang Jung-eum enjoyed a yacht date with her father and shared stories. Hwang Jung-eum laughed, saying, “Do you remember? When I was getting married, my dad said, ‘Even if you know the depths of the water, you can’t know the depths of a person’s heart.’” She continued, “Anyway, I have to listen to my dad. If I get a boyfriend, I will introduce him to my dad to get his approval. If it’s not my dad’s approval, then it’s a no.”
Hwang Jung-eum asked, “Is it better for me to remarry or not?” Her father firmly replied, “You should not remarry. That’s absolute.” To this, Hwang Jung-eum emphasized, “I have no intention of doing that either.”
Her father advised, “Now, you should pursue what you want. Just a friend with whom you can have a glass of wine in the evening. That’s essential for living in the future. I’m okay with that. Anyway, you just need to focus on the two kids and fulfill your responsibilities as a mother without any distractions. And treat your mom better than your dad.”
