Actor Choo Young-woo has won the Best New Actor award in the broadcasting category at the 'Baeksang Arts Awards'.
The 61st Baeksang Arts Awards took place on the evening of the 5th at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. The awards recognize the best works and actors in the broadcasting (TV), film, and theater categories for the first half of 2024 and 2025. The event was hosted by broadcaster Shin Dong-yeop, actress and singer Suzy, and actor Park Bo-gum.
On this day, Choo Young-woo won the Best New Actor award for his role in 'The Lady in Dignity' (JTBC).
Choo Young-woo expressed, "I don't think this is something I achieved alone. I hope my parents, who are suffering and in pain, can see this." He added, "My acting teacher told me to become someone who wears out from acting. I will work harder to make that happen."
The Baeksang Arts Awards, established in 1965, is a comprehensive arts award that honors the production teams and performers in the TV, film, and theater categories that have aired or screened over the past year, aimed at promoting the development of Korean popular culture and uplifting artists.
The theme of this year's Baeksang Arts Awards is 'Towards, Sailing'. It signifies the support of the Baeksang Arts Awards for the development and journey of popular culture and arts moving beyond Korea to the world.
