Comedian Yang Se-hyung expressed his longing for his late father.
On the 12th, Yang Se-hyung and Yang Se-chan appeared as guests on tvN’s ‘You Quiz on the Block’.
On that day, Yoo Jae-suk mentioned the poetry collection written by Yang Se-hyung and asked, “There are many stories about your father in the poems. What kind of person was your father?” Yang Se-hyung recalled, “He was a bit blunt but always sided with his sons. My mother played the role of a strict figure, while my father often comforted us.”
Yang Se-hyung said, “When my father was diagnosed with a terminal illness, I tried not to cry. My mother and younger brother cried. I thought, ‘If I cry too, there will be no one to hold it together.’ That was when I understood what it meant to swallow your tears.” He continued, “Even after my father passed away, I couldn’t bring myself to delete his number. Whenever I had to make a final decision, I would always ask my father. Even now, in my forties, I still feel like a child. But it’s hard when I try to act like an adult and make decisions. I guess I want to hear my father say, ‘Se-hyung, you’re doing well.’”
Meanwhile, ‘You Quiz on the Block’ airs every Wednesday at 8:45 PM.
