The essence of Korean-style caper drama, ‘Taxi Driver’ Season 3 is returning in the second half of this year.

On the 6th, the production team of SBS's new Friday-Saturday drama ‘Taxi Driver 3’ (written by Oh Sang-ho, directed by Kang Bo-seung) announced, “The new season of the beloved ‘Taxi Driver’ series, ‘Taxi Driver 3’, has been confirmed for SBS's schedule in the second half of this year.”

Based on the webtoon of the same name, the ‘Taxi Driver’ series is a private revenge agency drama where the taxi company Rainbow Transportation and taxi driver Kim Do-gi take revenge on behalf of unjust victims. With the unprecedented concept of a taxi driver hunting down villains, ‘Taxi Driver’ has established itself as a representative of refreshing dramas, capturing the thrilling catharsis of good triumphing over evil along with the dynamic fun unique to caper stories.

As the seasons progressed, the chemistry among the members of ‘Rainbow Transportation’ grew stronger, and the fun elements such as the parade of side characters by the protagonist Kim Do-gi (played by Lee Je-hoon) successfully captured global fans beyond Korea. The most recent series, ‘Taxi Driver 2’, recorded a peak viewership rating of 25.6% (Nielsen Korea, based on the metropolitan area), making it the highest-rated mini-series aired in 2023, and maintained the number one viewership rating in 16 countries worldwide within ten days of its release, establishing itself as a ‘trusted mega-hit IP’.

In ‘Taxi Driver 3’, set to air in the second half of this year, Lee Je-hoon, who created the ‘God Do-gi Syndrome’ by playing the role of ‘Rainbow Transportation’s representative driver’ Kim Do-gi, will return, along with Kim Eui-sung, who plays the role of ‘Rainbow Transportation’s representative’ Jang Seong-cheol, Pyo Ye-jin, who has redefined her character as ‘Rainbow Transportation’s hacker’ Go Eun, and Jang Hyuk-jin and Bae Yu-ram, who are active as scene-stealers playing the roles of ‘Rainbow Transportation’s engineer duo’ Choi Joo-im and Park Joo-im, showcasing the shining loyalty of the complete ‘Rainbow Transportation’ team once again.

Even before the end of ‘Taxi Driver 2’, Lee Je-hoon expressed his wish, saying, “I hope to write another story with this family,” raising expectations for the chemistry of the ‘Rainbow Transportation’ five, which boasts an unprecedented team chemistry.

Additionally, the collaboration between Oh Sang-ho, the ‘father of the Taxi Driver universe’, and director Kang Bo-seung, who has built a solid filmography with co-direction of ‘Romantic Doctor Kim Sa-bu 3’, heightens interest. ‘Taxi Driver 3’ is expected to captivate viewers with a more mature universe while inheriting the attractive elements from the previous seasons. There is also growing anticipation for the synergy of the production team that will lead the ‘Taxi Driver’ series to a triple success.

The production team of ‘Taxi Driver 3’ stated, “We are making every effort to repay the love shown to the previous seasons. Lee Je-hoon, Kim Eui-sung, Pyo Ye-jin, Jang Hyuk-jin, and Bae Yu-ram are also ready to showcase the best teamwork,” adding, “You will be able to see why the ‘Taxi Driver’ series is the essence of ‘Korean-style caper drama’ with exhilarating fun. We ask for your great expectations and interest in ‘Taxi Driver 3’, which will be aired in the second half of this year.”
