'What Do You Do When You Play?' was held as a fish dish special.
On the afternoon of the 1st, the MBC entertainment program 'What Do You Do When You Play?' (directed by Kim Jin-yong, Jang Woo-sung, Jang Hyo-jong, Wang Jong-seok, written by Choi Hye-jung) was themed 'Please Take Care of the Fish'.
On this day’s broadcast, the members gathered in Ganghwa Island to prepare to eat KCM's fish dishes. At that moment, the fish owner KCM appeared, bringing a significantly heavy fish and asking, "Woo-jae, what are you doing?" He proudly stated, "I brought this to show you how to handle it. This is an upgraded version from last time. This is a rock bream I caught myself yesterday. On top of the rock bream is a red snapper. I caught six of these yesterday."
Yoo Jae-suk mentioned, "Seung-hun gave me a gift, but the sadness! It wasn't at home when I checked. I asked the production team, and they said they couldn't find it." The production team then revealed, "We found it while editing," and played the footage, showing KCM sneakily putting it in his pocket, shocking the members.
Seeing this, Yoo Jae-suk's expression hardened, and he questioned, "Do you have a habit of stealing? Is the car you drive really yours?"
KCM explained, "That's not it! While talking, I thought it would be awkward to leave it on the floor, so I put it in my pocket, and when I got home, I found it. I'll be right back from the bathroom."
Haha expressed suspicion, saying, "I'm not lying; I lost a bracelet, you know? Why is he acting like that all of a sudden?" Later, when Yoo Jae-suk saw the sadness KCM brought, he showed affection for it, asking, "Have you been well?"
Then, Professor Shin Gye-sook appeared, scanning the fish and saying, "I'll make steamed fish with red snapper. And I'll fry the rock bream to make sweet and sour fish. Do you know why it's called sweet and sour? Originally, it's called 'tangchu'! It's a mix of syrup and vinegar. The characteristic of frying is that it tastes good even if you don't do it well. You have to communicate with the dish," hinting at delicious fish dishes.
The professor began cooking for the members, quickly preparing steamed fish with tender fish fillets and soy sauce. In particular, Joo Woo-jae expressed excitement, saying, "Today is the day the red snapper goes extinct," while Yoo Jae-suk remarked, "I think this is the first time I've seen Woo-jae so happy about food," showing his amazement.
The members exclaimed, "The seasoning is insane!" and "The fish is sweet," while Yoo Jae-suk added, "The fish is oily and so chewy," enjoying the meal. They also commented, "Eating it fresh makes it so delicious," and continued to eat.
Next, they cooked sweet and sour fish, and Joo Woo-jae eagerly said, "I absolutely love sweet and sour fish! I really like it a lot," expressing his anticipation. Yoo Jae-suk urged, "You really have to try it. Seriously! I'm not joking!" and enjoyed it so much that he closed his eyes while eating.
Joo Woo-jae, who is picky about fish, cautiously took a bite of the fish fillet and said, "This... this isn't fish, is it? The skin feels like pork skin," while enjoying it.
He added, "Since it's ketchup-based, I think it goes really well," refilling his ketchup and declared, "This is the best fish dish I've ever tasted in the world," giving a thumbs up. Even after finishing the fish, he asked KCM, "Hyung! Can I have just one piece of the skin?" surprising the members, and KCM was touched, saying, "Our Woo-jae!"
After a break, the decoration genius Chef Jo Seo-hyung appeared, announcing, "I have prepared Tongyeong-style steamed fish," and hinted at making Tongyeong-style sea bream and mackerel dumplings. He shared, "I dreamed of cooking after watching a drama in the first year of middle school. I watched 'My Name is Kim Sam-soon'..."
When Yoo Jae-suk asked, "So you received a lot of confessions after 'Black and White Chef'?" Jo Seo-hyung coolly replied, "Yes, I received a lot of confessions. People who thought I had a boyfriend contacted me after the show ended."
Yoo Jae-suk then asked, "So do you have someone you're connected with?" Jo Seo-hyung replied, "Yes," surprising everyone. Yoo Jae-suk exclaimed, "Oh, you have a boyfriend?" and Jo Seo-hyung shyly responded, "I confessed."
After tasting Jo Seo-hyung's mackerel dumplings, Haha remarked, "It's amazing that this isn't dumpling skin! It feels like the skin of the rock bream we had earlier," nodding in agreement, while Jo Seo-hyung smiled, saying, "The clean taste is the charm of Korean cuisine."
Later, he completed the Tongyeong-style steamed sea bream, and Joo Woo-jae, after tasting it, exclaimed, "The texture is really good. It lingers," while Lee Yi-kyung added, "The scent of perilla leaves keeps lingering!" and continued to eat.
MBC's 'What Do You Do When You Play?' airs every Saturday at 6:30 PM.
