Jang Hye-ri, a former member of the group Girl's Day, revealed that she received a 'sponsor' proposal in the past.
Jang Hye-ri's revelation came from a video titled '[Nononon] You went downhill after drinking?' released on the YouTube channel 'Channel Gojeonghae' on the 3rd. Jang Hye-ri is a regular cast member alongside broadcasters Shin Jeong-hwan and Kang Byeong-kyu.
In the video, while discussing temptations received during past drinking parties, Jang Hye-ri said, “I went to such a drinking party once when I was a rookie, and it was with a very famous CEO,” adding, “They called male rookies to sing and everything. But then, that CEO made such a proposal to me.”
Jang Hye-ri revealed, “He said, ‘If I support you, you have to be my girlfriend.’” She added, “I was taken aback and said, ‘I don’t think so,’ but that CEO mentioned female celebrities he had nurtured through such meetings.”
Jang Hye-ri recalled, “He said, ‘This one did it, and that one did it, so I’ll make you like that too,’” and added, “At a young age, my pride was really hurt. I thought I had to succeed without doing this.”
The CEO's inappropriate remarks continued even after that.
Jang Hye-ri shared, “When I met him again to greet him, he said, ‘You’re not becoming famous now because you rejected my proposal back then.’”
Jang Hye-ri debuted in 2010 as a founding member of Girl's Day but left the group the same year. She attempted to re-debut in a girl group but it fell through, and she is currently active as a trot singer.
