Actor Kim Young-chul, who showcased his charming appeal while taking a stroll around the neighborhood in 'Neighborhood Round', is now heading global.

KBS1's 'Lunar New Year Special Global Korean Journey - Kim Young-chul is Going' (hereinafter referred to as 'Kim Young-chul is Going') will be broadcast in two parts on the 28th and 29th at 9:40 PM.

'Kim Young-chul is Going' is a program that follows Kim Young-chul as he visits overseas Koreans who proudly elevate the status of the Korean community on the world stage. It will explore the secrets and habits of their hard-earned success abroad and examine the various meanings of success through their lives.

After stepping down from 'Neighborhood Round', Kim Young-chul returned to KBS after about three years, enduring long flights to meet overseas Koreans in person.

In Part 1, he will meet Chef Hwang Jung-in, the executive chef of 'Benu', a restaurant led by Corey Lee, the first Asian to receive three Michelin stars, and co-representative of 'Sanhawon', which specializes in authentic Korean cuisine. In Part 2, he will meet Hwang Jin, a 1.45 million subscriber YouTuber who suddenly disappeared after achieving success as the first Korean anchor at the age of 21, amidst the realities of prejudice and discrimination against Asians.

Previously, Kim Young-chul expressed, "It's the overseas version of 'Neighborhood Round'. I was excited and happy at the thought of meeting overseas Koreans after receiving the proposal for the 'Kim Young-chul is Going' program. The overseas Koreans are people who carry the Taegeukgi in their hearts. I went without hesitation because it has the meaning of visiting the places where they live to offer support and encouragement for their lives."

Director Kim Young-geun stated, "I wanted to look into the changed and evolved lives of overseas Koreans, and I hope it serves as an opportunity for the citizens of Korea to feel their lives again," adding, "I believe it is the responsibility of public broadcasting to pay attention to and look into the lives of overseas Koreans. I thought we should play the role of messengers for them. I hope this becomes a process for the citizens of our homeland and overseas Koreans to understand and know each other better."

It is of great interest to see what success stories the overseas Koreans who meet Kim Young-chul will bring to the living rooms during the Lunar New Year holiday.

Part 1 of 'Kim Young-chul is Going' will air on the 28th, and Part 2 will air on the 29th at 9:40 PM.
