Director Choi Sang-yeol, who directed 'Please Take Care of Eagle Five Brothers!', revealed the directing points and behind-the-scenes insights of the work.
The new KBS2 weekend drama 'Please Take Care of Eagle Five Brothers!' (directed by Choi Sang-yeol, written by Koo Hyeon-sook), which is set to premiere on February 1, depicts the well-ripened family story created by the five uniquely talented brothers of the long-established brewery, Eagle Soju, and the eldest sister-in-law who suddenly becomes the head of the family after her husband's unexpected death just ten days after their wedding.
With the first broadcast just three days away, Director Choi Sang-yeol expressed, "I feel like a private in the front lines," and added, "The excitement and pride of taking on a big project are overshadowed by the pressure of not being able to fail," showing a sense of heavy responsibility.
He also shared his thoughts on working with writer Koo Hyeon-sook. Director Choi stated, "It is an honor just to work with the writer, and after reading the script, I found it interesting. If it is this enjoyable without huge events or forced setups, I thought this work would be successful."
Having emphasized the fun of the script reminiscent of 'Love Actually' at the previous production presentation, Director Choi expressed his ambition to focus on the 'chemistry of couples' in his direction.
He mentioned, "In addition to the five brothers, there are seven couples showcasing delightful or fantastic chemistry," and added, "The key to directing is to show different chemistries and various shades of love and affection," raising expectations for the upcoming broadcast.
Director Choi identified 'intense competition', 'couples everywhere', and 'harmony of the old and new' as the viewing points for 'Please Take Care of Eagle Five Brothers!'. He remarked, "The 'Best Couple Award' holds significant weight at year-end award ceremonies. I hope viewers will pick their favorite couple and support them vigorously. Just like betting makes the competition more thrilling, I believe you will enjoy it even more."
Director Choi added, "In addition to the five brothers, there are unexpectedly entertaining couples lined up, so I ask for your interest in their activities as well," and noted, "If you look at the couples of the five brothers, the elder team consists of veterans, while the younger team is made up of newcomers.
