The ‘Trot Festival’ that will heat up the Lunar New Year holiday is coming to your home today (29th).
The ‘KBS Lunar New Year Special Trot Festival THE COLOR’ (Executive Producer Park Ji-young, Director Go Guk-jin, hereafter ‘Trot Festival’) promises an unprecedented Lunar New Year gift. Under the solo MC Lee Chan-won's hosting, various generations of trot artists will gather in one place to present an exciting stage feast.
The ‘Trot Festival’ is designed as a splendid festival that proves the present and future of ‘K-Trot’ in celebration of the major national holiday, Lunar New Year. In line with the subtitle ‘THE COLOR’, a variety of special stages with different colors that can only be seen at the ‘Trot Festival’ have been prepared.
First, a colorful unit performance is anticipated to heighten expectations. Young generation trot artists will showcase their charming appeal through the ‘The Pink’ stage. ‘Trot Girls’, consisting of Oh Yoo-jin, Hong Ji-yoon, and Kim So-yeon, will present a legendary stage of globally popular K-pop girl groups. The ‘Bokbokis’ formed by brothers Hwang Min-woo and Hwang Min-ho will create a surprise stage for sharing blessings to celebrate the New Year.
A ‘The Red’ stage featuring Kim Yeon-ja, Jin Sung, and Park Seo-jin is also prepared. From Kim Yeon-ja's intense performance as a rocker to a special stage by ‘The God of Janggu’ Park Seo-jin with over 30 members of the Chae Hyang-soon Art Troupe, expectations are high. Park Hye-sin, Ahn Seong-hoon, and Kim Hee-jae will showcase the essence of powerful vocals through ‘The Black’ stage.
They will select legendary songs loved by the people of Korea, proving their infinite potential beyond trot. Additionally, with the addition of ‘The White’ stage, they plan to present a melodious stage that highlights the original genres and characters of artists like Lyn (Ballad), Yang Ji-eun (Traditional Music), and Son Tae-jin (Crossover).
Moreover, the ‘Trot Festival’ will offer a high-quality stage with a new concept not seen in trot performances. With a large-scale big choir, Chae Hyang-soon Art Troupe, and a set design that feels like a grand performance hall, it is expected to captivate viewers with its breathtaking scale.
Through high-level sound mastering, it will provide both the audience and viewers with the heat of a concert hall. In particular, they plan to complete a performance like a movie in collaboration with the color correction team that worked with director Lee Byung-hun, who achieved ten million in box office hits.
