Actors Seo Beom-jun, Park Sang-nam, Hong Ye-ji, and Han Soo-ah became the recipients of the Rookie Awards at the ‘2024 KBS Acting Awards’.
After winning the Rookie Award on the broadcast of the ‘2024 KBS Acting Awards’ on the 11th, Seo Beom-jun said, “I am so nervous. Thank you to the director, writer, and all the staff and colleagues. I am grateful to my beloved family and company members watching on TV. Thanks to you all, I could stand here as actor Seo Beom-jun.”
He continued, “While playing Barun, I portrayed a friend who lost a beloved family member due to an unfortunate event that should not have happened. I lived for a long time as a character named Zeus behind the scenes. I think the reason Barun could live on was that he hoped not to be forgotten. I dare not presume to understand everything, but I thought that remembering someone and not forgetting them could be a source of comfort. I will also never forget. Thank you for all your hard work in 2024. I believe that when we feel happiness, it is because there is someone to share that happiness with. I hope everyone is happy. I wish for a warm spring to come this winter, which is cold both physically and mentally.”
Park Sang-nam from ‘Let’s Get Married, Maenggong’ said, “This is an award that can only be received once in a lifetime,” and added, “I am grateful to the senior colleagues and teachers who created a good atmosphere so that I could act without feeling discouraged. I want to dedicate this honor to the ‘Let’s Get Married, Maenggong’ team. I will strive to be a more humble and grateful actor.”
Hong Ye-ji from ‘Fantasy Romance’ expressed, “I am grateful to the director and writer for giving me the opportunity to live as Yeon-wol. I would like to thank my close colleagues Park Ji-hoon, Ji-woo, Hwang Hee, and Hwang Seok-jeong for their hard work. I will keep in mind the gratitude for the B team director who helped capture my emotional lines on camera while acting. I will remember this award not as a reward for doing well, but as a whip to encourage me to do better. Thank you to my family and fans who support me closely.”
Han Soo-ah from ‘Beauty and the Pure Man’ said, “I would like to thank the viewers who laughed and cried with us while watching the 50 episodes. I want to express my gratitude to the director, writer, and all the production staff of ‘Beauty and the Pure Man’, as well as to my respected and beloved teachers and seniors. I am thankful to my family and company members who worked closely with me. I wish everyone a warm and happy new year. I will continue to work hard in the future.”
The ‘2024 KBS Acting Awards’, hosted by broadcaster Jang Seong-kyu and actors Seo Hyun and Moon Sang-min, was originally scheduled to be broadcast live on December 31 of last year but was canceled due to the aftermath of the Jeju Air passenger plane disaster. The awards ceremony was conducted as a recorded event.
Nominees for the Grand Prize included Lee Soon-jae from the drama ‘Dog Barking’, Ji Hyun-woo and Lim Soo-hyang from ‘Beauty and the Pure Man’, Kim Jung-hyun and Park Ji-young from ‘Ironing Family’, and Kim Ha-neul from ‘Let’s Get Married, Maenggong’.
