The horror drama 'Gwi-jeop (鬼接)', produced by JTBC, will be released online on the 30th.
‘Gwi-jeop (鬼接)’ is a horror drama that deals with the spiritual entity 'evil spirit' that harms humans, regardless of faith and distrust, and the 'shaman' who coexists with humans on the opposite side of the evil spirit. It tells the story of a ghost that suddenly appears in the bedroom of a newlywed couple, driving them into madness, and the shaman who investigates the cause.
The production of ‘Gwi-jeop (鬼接)’ utilized 3D conversion technology developed through the AI-based production environment demonstration project of the Korea Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission. This technology has significantly reduced production costs while enabling the creation of high-quality S3D (stereoscopic, a type of 3D video technology) videos, vividly portraying the fear and mystery of the possessed shaman and the experiences of those who witness bizarre phenomena.
Additionally, to provide 3D content via OTT, the ETRI Busan Joint Research Lab has implemented the world's first user-selectable stereoscopic media streaming service system based on ATSC 3.0 (Advanced Television Systems Committee, next-generation digital broadcasting standard).
The 3D horror drama 'Gwi-jeop (鬼接)', which has pioneered a new content market of 'AI stereoscopic video', will be available for viewing on the online homepage starting from the 30th.
