This record will also be revealed in the documentary, drawing attention. The interrogation records contain Ahn Jung-geun exercising his right to remain silent to protect his colleagues and family, as well as statements made to confuse the investigation, providing a glimpse into a new side of Ahn Jung-geun.
▶ The Excavation of Ahn Jung-geun's Remains as a Prelude to Peace in East Asia
The peace and cooperation in East Asia that Ahn Jung-geun longed for until his last moment is deeply connected to the issue of his remains' excavation. To determine the burial location of Ahn Jung-geun's remains, it is necessary for Japan to provide relevant materials. Additionally, China, where the remains are presumed to be buried, has set the condition that both North and South Korea must agree to the excavation, indicating that cooperation and dialogue among the North, South, China, and Japan are essential for the excavation of Ahn Jung-geun's remains. The excavation of Ahn Jung-geun's remains is expected to be the first step toward the peace in East Asia that he so fervently desired.
The ‘Peace Project: Finding Ahn Jung-geun's Remains’ will trace Ahn Jung-geun's footprints through a grand expedition involving six countries: South Korea, North Korea, Japan, China, Russia, and the United States. Following the footsteps of Ahn Jung-geun, who was both a Korean and a global citizen, we will reflect on the peace message he left for future generations and its significance.
