The group NMIXX has announced the start of their energetic comeback activities during a countdown live to celebrate the release of their first full-length album.
NMIXX released their first regular album 'Blue Valentine' and the title track of the same name on October 13 at 6 PM.
The title track 'Blue Valentine' sings about the point where each other's emotions collide, expressing a desire to ignite warmth in a cold heart. It captivates the ears with a melancholic synth sound and guitar riffs, intertwined with a fast-paced boom bap rhythm.
As of midnight on the 14th, 'Blue Valentine' ranked 11th on Melon's Top 100, 1st on the Hot 100 (100 days), 1st on the Hot 100 (30 days), and 1st on Bugs' real-time chart. The new album topped the album chart on Hanteo Chart at 10 PM on the 13th and, as of 8 AM on the 14th, it also reached 1st place on the Korean Apple Music Top Albums chart and the top album charts in Hong Kong, Kazakhstan, Singapore, and other overseas iTunes charts, enjoying soaring popularity.
LILY, Haewon, Seolyoon, BAE, Jiwoo, and Kyujin held a countdown live on NMIXX's official YouTube channel at 4:40 PM on the 13th to celebrate their comeback with fans both domestically and internationally.
The members expressed, "We are very excited to head towards a new stage with our fans," and "We put a lot of time and effort into preparing our first full-length album, and we hope many people will enjoy it," creating anticipation for their comeback activities while interacting in real-time with their fans, known as NSWER.
Along with an album description that highlights the concept visualizing 'ambivalence of love,' they confidently pointed out 12 tracks to listen to, showcasing their confidence in the album.
The title track 'Blue Valentine,' which harmonizes well with the cool autumn atmosphere, the pre-released music video 'SPINNIN’ ON IT' that garnered enthusiastic attention, the powerful message of 'Phoenix' about rising like a phoenix, the song 'Reality Hurts' with lyrics by LILY, marking NMIXX's first English lyrics, 'RICO' mixing Latin pop and hip-hop, and 'PODIUM' and 'Crush On You,' which highlight emotions with lyrics contributed by Haewon, were introduced as a rich collection of song gifts.
In particular, LILY and Haewon, who are credited with writing on the new album, shared their working process, completing a fulfilling time. Additionally, the six members added fun by voicing content that illustrated the NMIXX universe in a webtoon as part of their comeback promotion or playing a telepathy music wave game.
