The new special unit of the group SEVENTEEN, S.Coups X Mingyu, has started gaining popularity in Japan as well.

According to the latest chart released by Oricon Japan on the 1st (as of September 30), S.Coups X Mingyu's mini album 'HYPE VIBES' debuted at No. 1 on the 'Daily Album Ranking' on its first day of release in Japan.

This album achieved No. 1 on the iTunes Japan 'Top Albums' chart immediately after its release and secured a top position on the Apple Music Japan 'Top Albums' chart. The title track '5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)' ranked high on Line Music's real-time and daily charts.

S.Coups X Mingyu ignited success both domestically and internationally with 'HYPE VIBES'. The album sold over 600,000 copies on the day of its release (September 29), setting a record for the highest first-day sales for a K-pop unit album. Additionally, it topped the iTunes 'Top Albums' chart in 16 countries and regions, ranked 6th on the 'Worldwide iTunes Album' chart, and rose to 4th place the following day on September 30.

The title track '5, 4, 3 (Pretty woman) (feat. Lay Bankz)' reached No. 1 on the Bugs real-time chart shortly after its release, and all tracks from the album successfully charted on Melon's 'Top 100'. The music video for the title track, reminiscent of a romantic comedy film, topped the 'YouTube Music Video Trending Worldwide' chart and has maintained a high position since.

Expectations for S.Coups X Mingyu's performance are also building. The pre-released challenge video for the title track has been viewed over 180 million times, and thousands of videos of fans dancing to their choreography have been uploaded, proving their hot popularity. The new song's stage can be seen today (2nd) on Mnet's 'M Countdown'.

Not only the unit but also SEVENTEEN's high popularity continues. The title track '_WORLD' from SEVENTEEN's 4th full album repackage 'SECTOR 17' surpassed 50 million cumulative streams on Japanese music platforms in August, earning a 'Gold' certification in the streaming category from the Japan Record Association.
