The past appearance fee of 'King of Music' Cho Yong-pil was mentioned.
On the 3rd, KBS2's special program for the 80th anniversary of Liberation, ‘Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment - Prequel’, featured three MCs: lyricist Kim Ina, Jannabi's Choi Jeong-hoon, and Kim Dong-hyun, discussing Cho Yong-pil with critic Lim Jin-mo and reporter Hong Seong-kyu.
Lim Jin-mo and Hong Seong-kyu, who have a long-standing relationship with Cho Yong-pil, talked about the popularity of the 'original idol' Cho Yong-pil. Reporter Hong Seong-kyu said, "Cho Yong-pil lived in Seocho-dong, and at that time, residents even asked him to move out."
Lim Jin-mo stated, "Cho Yong-pil has done it all. In 1981, he appeared in the movie 'That Love Became a Grudge' with the top actress of the time, Yoo Ji-in, and his appearance fee was 20 million won," adding, "In today's terms, that's about 1 billion won," which surprised everyone.

Cho Yong-pil's advertising fees also drew attention. It was reported that the advertising appearance fee in the 1980s was 100 million won. Critic Lim Jin-mo remarked, "At that time, the housing lottery winning amount was also 100 million won, so it was a massive jackpot."
Meanwhile, KBS2 is filling the Chuseok holiday with a special program featuring live broadcasts of 'King of Music' Cho Yong-pil's performances that everyone can enjoy together.
‘Cho Yong-pil, Forever This Moment - Prequel’ aired on the 3rd, and on the 6th at 7:20 PM, a live broadcast of Cho Yong-pil's solo concert held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul last month will be aired.
