A music video from the group BTS has become the first to reach 2 billion views.
The music video for the digital single 'Dynamite', which was simultaneously released worldwide on August 21, 2020, through the HYBE (Chairman Bang Si-hyuk) labels' YouTube channel, surpassed 2 billion views around 9:16 AM on the 4th. With this, 'Dynamite' has become the first BTS music video to reach the milestone of 2 billion views, setting another record. It added 100 million views approximately 9 months after hitting 1.9 billion views on December 19 last year.
'Dynamite' is a bright and cheerful disco-pop healing song, marking BTS's first English song. The music video features an infectious rhythm combined with a lively and dynamic performance. It was produced with a vibrant concept that captures a cheerful atmosphere, harmonizing the enjoyment of music with energetic group choreography.
Recently, 'Dynamite' ranked 34th on Apple Music's list of 'The Most Streamed Songs Worldwide in the Last 10 Years'. This song is the only K-pop group song to appear on that chart alongside 'Butter', once again proving BTS's influence.
BTS has set a monumental milestone with 'Dynamite'. With this song, they became the first Korean artist to reach number one on the US Billboard main song chart 'Hot 100', holding the top spot for a total of 3 weeks. Additionally, they won 'Best Song' at the '2020 MTV Europe Music Awards' and 'Top Selling Song' at the '2021 Billboard Music Awards'. They also achieved remarkable success by obtaining the fastest streaming diamond certification (over 500 million streams) from the Japan Record Association.
