Choi Min-hwan (32) of the group FT Island will make his first official appearance after being cleared of the 'prostitution controversy'.
Choi Min-hwan will join the FT Island concert '2025 FT Island Live - Mad Happy' held on the 23rd and 24th at the Blue Square SOL Travel Hall in Hannam-dong, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, to meet fans.
Previously, his agency FNC Entertainment hinted to fans, seemingly aware of the controversy, saying, "This performance will feature Lee Hong-ki, Lee Jae-jin, and Choi Min-hwan. Please keep this in mind when making reservations." This was a consideration for fans who might feel uncomfortable with Choi Min-hwan's participation.
Attention is focused on what Choi Min-hwan, who has been embroiled in personal controversies, will say in front of domestic fans on this day.
Ahead of the concert, Choi Min-hwan drew attention by sharing recent photos from the FT Island concert at Taipei Dome in Taiwan with the members. He shared a photo holding a uniform of a Taiwanese professional baseball team with Lee Hong-ki and Lee Jae-jin.
Previously, Choi Min-hwan suspended his activities due to the personal life revelations of his ex-wife, Yul-hee, in October last year. At that time, he was accused of prostitution and sexual assault but was cleared of charges due to insufficient evidence.
Since then, he has been participating in overseas activities, including the FT Island live tour held in Japan since March, marking his return. This concert is the first domestic solo concert in about a year since the '2024 FT Island Live - Pulse' held in June last year.
Meanwhile, Choi Min-hwan and Yul-hee had a son in 2018 and got married. They later had twin daughters, making three children, but they divorced by mutual agreement in December 2023, five years after their marriage. Choi Min-hwan obtained custody of the children.
In this process, Yul-hee filed a custody lawsuit to regain the custody she had transferred to Choi Min-hwan at the time of their divorce, along with lawsuits for alimony and property division.
