The group Tomorrow X Together is aiming for the Billboard 'Hot 100' in the United States.
Tomorrow X Together (TXT, Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, Taehyun, Huening Kai) held a showcase to celebrate the release of their 4th studio album ‘Chapter of the Star: Together’ on the afternoon of the 21st at the Peace Hall of Kyung Hee University in Hoegi-dong, Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul.
On this day, Beomgyu expressed his thoughts on their comeback, saying, “We have received a lot of love since the beginning of this year, and since this is our long-awaited regular album, we ask for even more love and attention.” Huening Kai added, “It’s been 1 year and 9 months since our last regular album, so I’m curious and excited about the response. We will work hard.”
Soobin also mentioned, “We have returned with our 4th regular album. We have been intensely thinking about how to show an evolved version of ourselves musically and visually,” raising expectations for the new release.
‘Chapter of the Star: Together’ is an album that tells the story of saving each other and the world through the act of ‘calling each other’s names,’ which is only possible when we genuinely empathize with one another.
Taehyun introduced the new album by saying, “This album concludes the ‘Chapter of the Star’ series. It emphasizes the true meaning of ‘togetherness,’” while Huening Kai remarked, “While preparing for this album, I recalled a lot of the narratives from the previous ‘Chapter of the Star,’ and I reflected on the lyrics. Also, the album title includes our team name ‘Together,’ which makes it feel special in many ways.”
The title track ‘Beautiful Strangers’ tells the story of ‘me’ growing with the strength received from ‘you’ and ‘us’ being more beautiful because of our uniqueness. The speaker’s active attitude, realizing the magical power of calling your name, is beautifully blended into a sweet melody and intense accompaniment.
Recalling the first time he heard ‘Beautiful Strangers,’ Huening Kai said, “I imagined our performance on stage. Since it’s the song that concludes the ‘Chapter of the Star,’ the time we’ve spent together flashed before my eyes, and I thought we could convey our sincerity.”
Yeonjun participated in the choreography for the title track. He shared, “It was my first time creating choreography for a title track, and it was really fun. When I first heard it, I thought, ‘This would look cool,’ so I organized my ideas over two days and sent a draft to the company, and it went smoothly. I hope you focus on the different vibe compared to what we’ve shown so far.”
In response, Beomgyu said, “It was a new style that we hadn’t done much before, and I was eager to try it. Also, Yeonjun left some parts open for me, so I could express my own feelings.” Taehyun added, “Yeonjun dances so well. Capturing that feeling was not easy at first, but through practice, I think I’ve managed to convey that feeling now,” bursting into laughter.
Notably, this album features solo tracks from each member for the first time.
Yeonjun showcases stylishness with ‘Ghost Girl,’ Soobin presents a bright and lovely side with ‘Sunday Driver,’ Huening Kai reveals a sexy twist in ‘Dance With You,’ Beomgyu infuses his own emotions into ‘Take My Half,’ which he participated in producing, and Taehyun boasts delicate expressiveness by writing and composing ‘Bird of Night.’
Regarding this, Soobin said, “I’m glad we could show each member’s charm through solo tracks at a point where we are concluding a narrative as a team,” while Beomgyu shared, “We also filmed music videos for our solo tracks, and it was new for me to be the only protagonist.”
Debuting in 2020, Tomorrow X Together is approaching their re-contracting period.
In response to questions about this, Soobin said, “We are discussing it among the members. We are all happy when we are together, and we want to sing and perform for a long time. We are still in discussions, but I think we can share positive news.”
Huening Kai also stated, “I know our fans are worried, but I hope you don’t worry too much. All five of us still love music, so we will continue to try to show our colors in any way we can. You don’t need to worry too much.”
So what is the goal that Tomorrow X Together wants to achieve with this album?
Taehyun said, “I think it’s true that if you have a big dream, the pieces will be big when it breaks, so I want to set a big goal. I want to reach No. 1 on the Billboard ‘Hot 100’.” Huening Kai added, “I will also dream big like Taehyun. I want to reach No. 1 on the ‘Hot 100.’ Personally, I want our fans to love our album a lot so that we can happily continue our activities.”
Meanwhile, Tomorrow X Together's 4th studio album ‘Chapter of the Star: Together’ will be released at 6 PM on the same day.
