The recent status of actor Yoo Ah-in, who has been embroiled in drug allegations, has been revealed.
Global DJ Peggy Goo posted a photo on her SNS on the 3rd with the caption, “Fav director! Love you, Director Bong!”
The released photo shows Peggy Goo enjoying a party with director Bong Joon-ho and Yoo Ah-in. Yoo Ah-in, wearing a black hat, is smiling next to director Bong Joon-ho.
This is the first time Yoo Ah-in's recent status has been revealed in about two months.
Yoo Ah-in was indicted for habitual use of medical propofol and other substances under the guise of sedation for cosmetic procedures at hospitals in Seoul from September 2020 to March 2022, totaling 181 instances.
He is also accused of illegally obtaining over 1,100 doses of two types of sleeping pills under someone else's name 44 times from May 2021 to August 2023, and of smoking marijuana in the U.S. with others, including a person named Choi, and instructing others to smoke.
In September of last year, Yoo Ah-in was sentenced to one year in prison and fined 2 million won in the first trial and was taken into custody. In the appeal, his sentence was reduced to one year in prison with a two-year probation and a fine of 2 million won, leading to his release after five months. The Supreme Court confirmed the original ruling in July, stating, “We dismiss all of the prosecutor's appeals.”
