The couple of Shin Ji and Moon Won, who are facing controversy ahead of their wedding, chose to clarify instead of remaining silent.
On the afternoon of the 3rd, Moon Won addressed the controversy directly through his SNS, stating, “After the news of our wedding, I have encountered many stories about myself, and I was concerned that the facts I remember might have been distorted, so I needed time to confirm the accurate facts.”
He first apologized to the fans of Koyote and Shin Ji, saying, “I apologize for the discomfort and disappointment that my careless words and actions, as well as the controversies surrounding me, may have caused.”
Moon Won expressed his regret for hurting and causing harm to Shin Ji, saying, “As a partner I should walk with, I feel very sorry and ashamed.”
Previously, Shin Ji and Moon Won appeared on the YouTube channel ‘How Are You’ and revealed their marriage to the members of Koyote. During this, Moon Won disclosed his past marriage and children, and remarked about Shin Ji, a 26-year veteran singer, “I didn’t know she was famous. I just saw her as a woman. I thought I should live diligently without making mistakes with her,” which raised viewers' eyebrows.
He repeatedly apologized. Emphasizing that he would reflect on his words and actions, Moon Won began to clarify the allegations. Recently, various allegations about Moon Won's past have surfaced online, including claims that he “bullied juniors during school and military service,” “had a premarital pregnancy with his ex-wife and has allegations of cheating,” “changed his name three times,” and “real estate business fraud.”
In response, Moon Won acknowledged only the real estate fraud allegation, stating, “It is true that I operated without a license. That was my fault,” while denying the other allegations.
Moon Won concluded with a commitment to live as a more responsible person in his life with Shin Ji.

After Moon Won's clarification, individuals who appear to be his acquaintances defended him through multiple media outlets, denying the allegations.
Shin Ji also appeared with Moon Won on MBC Radio’s ‘Noon Hope Song with Kim Shin-young’ on the 2nd, clarifying, “I didn’t know that dating me would be newsworthy and have a big impact, and I expressed it only intuitively because I’m not good with words.” She added humorously, “Moon Won resembles the confused image of Kim Jong-min,” showcasing their unchanging affection for each other.
According to this statement, it seems that Moon Won and Shin Ji will proceed with their wedding without issues. However, there are still numerous opposing reactions to their marriage in the comments of the YouTube video and other online platforms, indicating that the controversy is unlikely to settle easily.
On the 23rd of last month, news of Shin Ji and Moon Won's romance and marriage was reported simultaneously. The couple is scheduled to marry in the first half of next year and has already completed their wedding photoshoot. They also showcased their affection by releasing a duet song ‘Shallakadoola’ on the 26th of last month.
