Koyote member Shinji (44, real name Lee Ji-sun) is set to tie the knot following member Kim Jong-min.
According to Koyote's agency, JG Star, Shinji conducted a wedding photoshoot on the 23rd ahead of her marriage. She is expected to marry fellow singer Moon Won (36, real name Park Sang-moon), who is seven years younger, in the first half of next year.
Shinji met Moon Won while working as a DJ on MBC Radio's 'Lee Yoon-seok and Shinji's Single Bungle Show,' and it is reported that their relationship developed into a romantic one at the end of last year.
Shinji also shared the news of her marriage on her social media, stating, “I had a wedding shoot today. I apologize for not being able to post quickly as I came across (the marriage) article during the shoot,” and added, “I had to rush to do the wedding shoot in advance, thinking about my busy schedule with Koyote's album and domestic tour starting with the Sydney performance this year.”
She continued, “We will strive to share the news of our wedding next year beautifully.”
In April, Kim Jong-min married his 11-year younger partner. With Shinji's marriage news following Kim Jong-min's, Koyote is celebrating a double joy.
Notably, during the press conference held on his wedding day, Kim Jong-min remarked, “The Koyote members seemed to think, ‘Next will be us’ after seeing me go first. If I go, Shinji and Baekga will soon have good news as well,” leading to speculation that he already knew about Shinji's marriage.
In response to Shinji's marriage news, broadcaster Moon Se-yoon congratulated her, saying, “Congratulations, sister, what a joyful occasion,” and many fellow celebrities, including broadcaster Jang Young-ran and singer Baek Gi-sung, have sent their congratulatory messages.
Before their marriage, Shinji and Moon Won will release a duet song titled ‘Shallakadoola’ on the 26th. The love song is expected to be their couple's song, inspired by the spell from the Disney animated film Cinderella.
Shinji debuted as the main vocalist of the three-member mixed group Koyote in 1998 and has been a veteran singer for nearly 30 years. The group has maintained its status as a rare mixed group in Korea for a long time and has received much love. Moon Won debuted in 2012 with ‘Live with Me’ and is active as a trot singer.
