Park Seo-jin's father was caught secretly smoking.
On the afternoon of the 25th, KBS2's 'Salim Nam Season 2' (hereafter 'Salim Nam') featured Park Seo-jin and Ji Sang-ryeol's families.
In this episode, Park Seo-jin's younger sister, Park Hyo-jung, was cooking ramen for a late-night snack when their father saw her and hid. After passing Hyo-jung, the father headed to the balcony and smoked a cigarette. It turned out that he had resolved to quit smoking as a New Year's goal, and Park Seo-jin's expression hardened as he watched this on the VCR.
The father offered Hyo-jung, "I'll give you 30,000 won. No, 50,000 won. Oh, just let it slide a little. I'll give you 100,000 won," making a deal, and Hyo-jung replied, "Oh, that won't do~ It's not about the money," and secretly let it go.
The next day, the Park family did kimjang (making kimchi) together, and Hyo-jung said, "Dad! We need to do kimjang! Why are you so slow?" looking at her father. Unlike usual, the father sweetly called out, "Princess~ What are we going to do?" and Hyo-jung tried to expose what happened the night before by asking, "Are you going to tell?"
In response to the mother's comment that "Hyo-jung should get married soon," the father sided with Hyo-jung, saying, "These days, people just buy kimchi." The mother asked, "What kind of weakness do you have over your daughter?" and while Hyo-jung was revealing, "I went upstairs last night," the father stuffed kimchi into Hyo-jung's mouth to silence her.
Seo-jin exclaimed, "Don't eat, just talk!" feeling frustrated, and when Hyo-jung tried to speak again, the father stuffed kimchi into her mouth once more, causing laughter. Seo-jin expressed suspicion, saying, "What are you two? There's something going on between you two."
Experiencing withdrawal symptoms, the father shouted, "Don't put the knife here! It'll get a hole! I give you a little money every month, and you just take a little! You go and catch the fish! Ugh! I'm not doing it!" throwing off his apron and startling the Seo-jin family.
He then said, "I can't even smoke, and now I want to have a drink. Why?" and ran out of the house, with Seo-jin urgently chasing after him.
The father and son walked towards the sea, chatting quietly, and the father said, "I came to clean up the cigarettes. I'm leaving!" as he boarded. Soon, he declared, "I'm a man of the sea. I promised my children that I would try to quit smoking," strengthening his resolve and moving the panelists.
Seo-jin asked, "Are your hands cold? Let me hold your hand," and Nam Bo-ra commented, "That hand-holding moment is touching," feeling moved. The father then said, "I'm sorry for holding my son's hand. Actually, I got caught smoking a cigarette on the roof last night," confessing, and Seo-jin immediately let go of his hand.
After the sun set, the father arrived home, boasting, "I came home holding Seo-jin's hand," and the Seo-jin family enjoyed a warm time eating boiled pork and kimchi. Seo-jin told Hyo-jung, "Eat a lot. I heard everything," and Hyo-jung replied, "If I knew this would happen, I would have spoken first. I just got scolded by my brother for no reason," glancing at Seo-jin.
The second 'Salim Nam' featured Ji Sang-ryeol. The panelists were surprised to see Ji Sang-ryeol's house filled with a pink pillow, two toothbrushes, and women's cosmetics.
Receiving a call early in the morning, Ji Sang-ryeol smiled at the woman's voice saying, "Your voice sounds a bit like you have a cold," and replied, "Then the power of love should come a bit," smiling. He then expressed, "I hope to see the winter sea," while measuring his blood pressure with a device in the room.
He said, "Right now, I don't have much... The medications I take are for blood pressure, cholesterol, and gout. I even went abroad because of gout," sharing his current health situation and worrying the panelists. He then took out the medications from his bag and took them.
Heading to the kitchen, he called out, "Sister-in-law!" revealing that he has been living with his sister-in-law for 40 years. He said, "I've been living with her since the first year of middle school. It's more than just parents. Honestly, it's more like family than just a sister-in-law!" expressing his affection for her.
Sang-ryeol shared, "Not long ago, I went to visit because my mom doesn't send signals well, but I felt like she wanted to see me in a dream," showing his affection for his late mother. After losing his mother in March last year, he said, "While she was alive, my mother lived in the living room. She wanted to feel warmth as people walked around. Since my mother couldn't control her bowels, my sister-in-law did everything," expressing gratitude to his sister-in-law.
The sister-in-law said, "It's nice that you think of family, but that's not everything. I think the priority is to be born into this world and create a family. I hope you meet a good partner and start a family," encouraging Ji Sang-ryeol.
