Composer Yoo Seung-beom revealed that he went through a divorce along with a debt of 2 billion won.

Yoo Seung-beom appeared on MBN’s ‘Exclusive World’ broadcast on the 17th and shared his recent situation. He talked about the hardships he faced due to business failures. It was reported that he is currently running a pub in Gunsan, Jeollabuk-do. He gained popularity in 1992 by singing the OST for the drama ‘Jealousy’. He also became well-known for composing songs like Kim Kyung-ho’s ‘Forbidden Love’, ‘My Love Even in Heaven’, and the OST ‘Reason’ for the drama ‘Autumn in My Heart’.

Yoo Seung-beom recalled, “I was suggested to create a website to teach music online, so I gathered very famous musicians of the time and started a company. We started off with great enthusiasm. We received investments and were doing well.”

He continued, “Due to my lack of experience and various issues, the company collapsed. I think I fell under a debt of about 2 billion won,” referring to his business failure.

Yoo Seung-beom mentioned that he had to choose divorce from his wife. He said, “My wife had a miscarriage, and at that time, the company was collapsing. She wanted to endure and overcome the hardships with me, knowing I was going down a difficult path. But I wanted to save her at that time.”

He added, “Every breakup is sad, and every divorce tears the heart apart. She fainted at the entrance of the divorce court, and it took about 4 to 5 times for us to finalize the divorce.”

Yoo Seung-beom confessed about a difficult time, saying, “When my business collapsed, I went to seek help from someone who had made a lot of money because of me, but that person had their secretary give me an envelope of money and ran away. While walking down, I started experiencing panic disorder symptoms. Suddenly, I couldn’t breathe, I felt weak, and I was sweating all over. I think I rolled on the floor for several hours.”

He also expressed gratitude towards his last manager, saying, “When everyone left, my last manager seemed to think I would die if left like that. He hugged me and took care of me. He was the one who saved me.”

On that day, Yoo Seung-beom introduced his son, Steve, who is from Brazil. He said, “He is an employee, a friend, and also my son,” mentioning that he has been living with Steve, who came from Brazil eight years ago.
