Kai of the group EXO has made a donation to support wildfire victims.
On the 2nd, Kai donated 50 million won to the Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byung-jun) for the recovery of wildfire damage in the Yeongnam region. The donation will be used for emergency relief activities, including housing and livelihood support for the affected residents.
Kai expressed, “I send my deepest condolences to those who have lost their homes and are enduring day by day in unfamiliar shelters,” and added, “I sincerely thank everyone who is working hard on the ground.”
In the past, Kai also donated funds to support victims during the early spread of COVID-19 and has participated in various charitable activities, including lending his voice for the production of braille sensory books for the visually impaired.
Meanwhile, since the 21st of last month, wildfires in the Yeongnam region, including Sancheong in Gyeongnam and Uiseong in Gyeongbuk, have resulted in numerous victims, including fatalities.
Currently, the Ministry of Health and Welfare has expanded the operation of the initial disaster response team due to the ongoing dry weather and strong winds that have spread the wildfires, resulting in many casualties and displaced individuals, and has established an emergency response team that includes relevant departments.
