The ‘2024 KBS Entertainment Awards’ is being held today (21st), and there is much interest in who will take home the grand prize.
The live broadcast of the ‘2024 KBS Entertainment Awards’ will take place at the KBS New Hall in Yeouido-dong, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. Actors Lee Joon, singer Lee Young-ji, and Lee Chan-won will host the event.
This year's grand prize nominees are Yoo Jae-suk, Jeon Hyun-moo, Ryu Soo-young, Lee Chan-won, and Kim Jong-min.
First, Yoo Jae-suk has won the KBS Entertainment Awards twice before. After returning to KBS with his show ‘Syncro Yoo’ after three years, he proved to be the ‘best MC’ who resonates with the MZ generation by placing all his entertainment shows, including ‘Syncro Yoo’, in the top 20 of the non-drama topicality index (according to Good Data Corporation). There is anticipation for whether Yoo Jae-suk will lift the grand prize trophy at his home station KBS once again.
Jeon Hyun-moo, who proudly calls himself the original ‘KBS son’, has been a stable MC for the program ‘The Boss's Ears Are Donkey Ears’ for the past five years. This year, he also drew attention by covering the women’s weightlifting event at the ‘33rd Paris Olympics’. It raises curiosity whether Jeon Hyun-moo will receive his first grand prize from his home station KBS.
Another nominee is Ryu Soo-young from ‘New Menu Launch Restaurant’. Ryu Soo-young has been responsible for the home entertainment with his excellent cooking skills, receiving enthusiastic support from both students living alone and housewives. There is interest in whether Ryu Soo-young can take home his first entertainment award through the popular show ‘New Menu Launch Restaurant’, which boasts a solid viewership base.
New face and rising ‘KBS son’ Lee Chan-won has also made the list. He has showcased his entertainment skills in long-running programs like ‘Immortal Songs’, as well as ‘High-End Water Strider’, ‘New Menu Launch Restaurant’, and ‘Celebrity Soldier’s Secret’. In September, he made a wide-ranging appearance in the ‘Chuseok Special Show: Lee Chan-won’s Gift’. It piques curiosity whether Lee Chan-won can carry this momentum to win the grand prize.
The final nominee is Kim Jong-min. Last year, he won the Entertainment Person of the Year award and, along with the ‘1 Night 2 Days Season 4’ team, took home the group grand prize after 12 years. Kim Jong-min has been responsible for KBS’s Sundays for 17 years. Attention is focused on whether the veteran of ‘1 Night 2 Days’ can add the title of individual grand prize winner to his two group grand prize wins.
The ‘2024 KBS Entertainment Awards’ will be broadcast on the 21st at 9:20 PM.
