‘New Generation’ rookie GENBLUE has announced their entry into the fierce competition of 5th generation girl groups, confidently preparing to soar.
Their agency, Ten Entertainment, announced that GENBLUE's first mini album ‘ACT LIKE THAT’ will be released on March 6. Having won the final prize in Taiwan's popular audition program ‘NEXT GIRLZ’ and officially debuting in Korea last September with ‘COCOCO’, they have been praised for expanding the realm of K-pop by winning the ‘Rookie of the Year’ award at the 32nd Korea Culture and Entertainment Awards.
The team name ‘GENBLUE’ combines ‘Generation’ with ‘Blue’, which evokes the sky and the sea, symbolizing infinite possibilities and embodying the ambition to become an icon of a new era that does not stop challenging.
GENBLUE is composed of six girls who won in a survival competition. The leader XXIN, who is proficient in everything from dance to rap, is a versatile character recognized for her dance skills by legendary dancer Jay Black, with whom she has filmed challenges.
Additionally, the group includes the talented main vocalist AYEON, the main vocalist YUAN known for her outstanding vocal and guitar skills with the nickname ‘Super Idol’, the sub-rapper LILI who is a TikToker with a million followers representing Gen Z, the sub-vocal AYAKO armed with witty charm, and the youngest NICO, who is responsible for visuals and has a surprising charisma with her shooting skills, making a total of six members.
Their first mini album ‘ACT LIKE THAT’ includes the title track of the same name, along with three other songs: ‘OH!’, ‘SLOW DOWN’, and ‘Spring is Coming’.
The title track ‘ACT LIKE THAT’ is a pop dance song characterized by a fast rhythm and stimulating, addictive sound, conveying a message of ambition to soar confidently without being conscious of the surrounding gaze, just as they have done until now.
Meanwhile, GENBLUE's first mini album ‘ACT LIKE THAT’ will be released on various music sites on March 6 at 6 PM.
