'Do Driver: Finding the Lost Screw' (hereafter 'Do Driver'), the second season of 'Hong Kim Dong Jeon' that was ignored by KBS, has made a spectacular comeback on Netflix and reached No. 1.
On the 26th, Kim Sook expressed her excitement on her personal SNS, saying, "Oh my, what is this~~ Do Driver is No. 1!! Thank you for waiting and for watching as soon as it opened··" 'Do Driver' cast member Jo Se-ho also commented on the post, expressing his joy with "Sister..ㅠㅠ".
The Netflix variety show 'Do Driver: Finding the Lost Screw' is a continuation of the KBS variety show 'Hong Kim Dong Jeon', which was canceled last year. The show is directed by PD Park In-seok, who was the PD of 'Hong Kim Dong Jeon', and features the original cast members Hong Jin-kyung, Kim Sook, Jo Se-ho, Joo Woo-jae, and Jang Woo-young.
'Hong Kim Dong Jeon', which aired from July 2022, was canceled in January last year despite its high popularity due to low viewership ratings. When the cancellation news broke, there were petitions and truck protests against it, but the decision to cancel was ultimately not reversed.
One year after its cancellation, the program has made a glamorous comeback on Netflix as 'Do Driver', a variety show featuring top 99% comedic talents assembling the joys and sorrows of life without a screw in a 'new concept' character format. Each week, intense episodes unfold, featuring games, costumes, penalties, travel, eating shows, and talk segments without any restrictions.
Since its release on the 23rd, 'Do Driver' has recorded No. 1 in the Netflix domestic series top 10 from the 25th to the current date of the 27th, washing away the sorrows of its cancellation.
