Channel A's new entertainment show 'Queen of Baseball' is a sports variety program where 'legendary female athletes' from various sports challenge themselves on the unfamiliar stage of 'baseball'. Most importantly, 'Queen of Baseball' is a program planned and produced by PD Shin Jae-ho, who directed Channel A's franchise entertainment show 'Steel Troops W', and writer Kang Suk-kyung, who has worked on 'Steel Troops W' and 'Physical 100' seasons 1 and 2, generating high expectations among sports entertainment enthusiasts. There is keen interest in the birth of a new 'women's sports narrative' that surpasses the strong female military narratives shown in 'Steel Troops W'.
Choo Shin-soo, a former Major League Baseball All-Star with a distinguished career, has been selected as the director to lead the players. The production team of 'Queen of Baseball' stated, "Choo Shin-soo empathized with the intention of expanding the base of women's baseball and accepted the role of director after much deliberation." They added, "Currently, Choo Shin-soo serves as an advisor to the owner of the SSG Landers and oversees player development. He has discussed the filming schedule with the team in advance and will adjust his schedule to film on personal days off to avoid interfering with team duties." The SSG team also agreed that this project could contribute to the expansion and activation of women's baseball and cooperated with the scheduling and participation.
