Electronic musician Kirara will release her 5th studio album 'Kirara' on Saturday, the 22nd, at 12 PM, featuring a large number of participating artists.
Ahead of the album release, the pre-released tracks 'Music' by Sunwoo Jung-A in December last year and 'Bird's Eye View' by Yeram in January left fans and listeners with fresh shocks and deep impressions, raising expectations for the 5th studio album.
The 5th studio album 'Kirara' celebrates Kirara's 11th year since her debut, focusing on the joy of making music, and features a total of 7 artists including Sunwoo Jung-A, Swervy, Hollow Jan, Yeram, Untell, Jang Myung-sun, and Han Jeong-in. Through collaborations with each artist, Kirara musically expressed the moment of happiness where various genres such as hip-hop, jazz, metal, and pop come together under the broad category of music.
The main title track 'Fragment' features the genius rapper Swervy, with his rapid rapping continuing for 5 minutes over numerous musical structures that traverse drum and bass, trap, and boom bap. Additionally, all the rap is composed of different content without distinguishing between verses and hooks.
The pre-released track 'Music', featuring Sunwoo Jung-A, consists entirely of vocal scats without lyrics. This song is a combination of Latin jazz and electro house, and the diverse vocals of vocalist Sunwoo Jung-A add vitality to the track.
The included track 'Evaporation' features all members of the screamo band Hollow Jan participating in the recording, and it is a song about the sense of liberation of those who are leaving.
Additionally, the album includes 'Contrast' featuring rapper Untell, 'Bird's Eye View' centered around the emotional vocals and lyrics of Yeram, 'Out of Earth' featuring Han Jeong-in that captures the longing for those who have left, 'Salad' with Jang Myung-sun's clear voice over minimal techno drum sources, 'Failed Amusement Park' in electro house style, 'Fragment Collection 1', 'Fragment Collection 2', 'Downed' about a falling airplane, 'Love Me' in French house style, and 'FP', a fast-paced dance track, totaling 14 songs including the intro.
Kirara stated, "After surpassing 10 years since my debut, I contemplated new music to take a leap forward, and as a result, I created this album. Through working with many artists, I discovered moments of happiness that made me forget my worries, and I expressed those feelings through music. I hope for your great interest and love."
Additionally, Lee Gi-jeong, the representative of Kami Music, expressed, "This album by Kirara focuses on collaborations of different music, unlike previous albums, and I would like to give it a high score in terms of completeness. I want many people to listen and appreciate it, inviting them into Kirara's world of electronic music."
Meanwhile, electronic musician Kirara is actively performing in Europe, including the Netherlands, Germany, and Spain, as well as in the United States, and is set to hold a concert on April 19 to celebrate the release of her 5th studio album, featuring video works created for each included track at the Musinsa Garage Hall.
