They did it again. The music video for BLACKPINK's title track 'Shut Down' from their second studio album has surpassed 700 million views on YouTube.

According to YG Entertainment on the 29th, BLACKPINK's 'Shut Down' music video exceeded 700 million views on YouTube at around 2:24 PM that day. It has joined the ranks of videos with 700 million views approximately 2 years and 4 months after its release on September 16, 2022, marking the group's 15th video to reach this milestone.

This music video attracted attention with its overwhelming scale of sets and stunning visuals, as it had the highest production cost in YG's history. It also featured scenes that paid homage to BLACKPINK's hit songs. The video recorded 44 million views in about 18 hours, ranking first as the 'Most Viewed Video in 24 Hours' on YouTube.

'Shut Down' is a hip-hop genre song that samples Paganini's 'La Campanella', adding a heavy beat to the original's sharp violin performance, maximizing its mysterious charm. The members' solid vocals and dynamic rapping come together to provide a thrilling experience.

The song has also achieved remarkable success on major charts. Immediately after its release, it topped the iTunes Song Chart in 43 countries and quickly reached the top of the iTunes Worldwide Chart. On Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, it made history as the first K-pop song to reach number one on the weekly chart.

Standing tall as the 'YouTube Queen', BLACKPINK continues to showcase their global influence. Their official channel currently has over 95.7 million subscribers, the highest among artists worldwide, and their total content views are nearing 37.9 billion.
