The members of ‘Running Man’ were tense when the speed of food delivery at the PC bang resulted in penalty balls being assigned.
The SBS variety show ‘Running Man’ aired on the afternoon of the 1st, themed ‘Wise Odd-Even Choice’.
On this day’s broadcast, the production team introduced guests Kyuhyun and Dahyun, saying, “Two guests have come to heat up this winter.” After introducing the guests, they explained, “You will choose one of two courses, and you need to guess whether the number of members gathered for each course is odd or even. The final five who receive penalties will have their penalties confirmed. The first course is an outdoor charcoal sauna and pork belly in the heart of Seoul vs. a PC bang in collaboration with pro gamer Faker’s agency. You must arrive at one of the two places by 11 o'clock. You can choose based on the number of people, but you must decide within the time limit. Currently, it’s odd, so if one person moves, the odd-even will change,” explaining the mission.
Yoo Jae-suk, Dahyun, Kim Jong-kook, Ji Suk-jin, Ji Ye-eun, Kyuhyun, and Haha chose odd, while the remaining members, Song Ji-hyo and Yang Se-chan, chose even. While in the same car, Haha, Yang Se-chan, and Song Ji-hyo were contemplating their direction when Haha said, “There’s sashimi and caviar. And there’s also Faker’s autograph,” promoting the PC bang, and eventually, the three headed to the PC bang.
On the other hand, Yoo Jae-suk, Kim Jong-kook, and Dahyun headed to the sauna and pork belly, while Ji Ye-eun, Ji Suk-jin, and Kyuhyun chose the PC bang. Ji Suk-jin and Kyuhyun, who got off at the PC bang as planned, realized that their teammate Ji Ye-eun was missing and chased after her. Ji Ye-eun exclaimed, “I want to go to the sauna! Odd-numbered Yoo Jae-suk and Dahyun escaped to the PC bang, and with both the PC bang and sauna being even, Haha joined them at the PC bang, creating an odd number.
The ‘Running Man’ members gathered at the PC bang for the first winter course, ordered the food they wanted while playing games, and the production team announced, “We will reveal a hidden rule that involves additional penalty balls. As soon as each person’s ordered food comes out, we will determine the 3rd place, and the last one to arrive will receive 3 penalty balls,” revealing the mission. In response, Yang Se-chan exclaimed, “I ordered 8!” causing the members to burst into laughter.
With the menus of Haha, Yoo Jae-suk, and Dahyun all arriving, Ji Ye-eun, who came in last, ended up with 3 penalty balls.
The second odd-even race took place, and the members were unable to change locations after arriving. They conducted a mission to choose between an indoor sports venue ice rink vs. an outdoor sports venue Mangwon Han River Park.
Ji Ye-eun, Haha, Yang Se-chan, Song Ji-hyo, and Ji Suk-jin chose odd, while Kim Jong-kook, Dahyun, Yoo Jae-suk, and Kyuhyun chose even. Ji Suk-jin said, “If we go outdoors and they all go indoors, we’ll be odd!” contemplating betraying the even team, and Yoo Jae-suk remarked, “We have to think that our results depend on theirs. This is the protagonist mindset,” teasingly.
In response, Ji Suk-jin threatened, “Kyuhyun, you have to touch the juniors who look like they might crawl up,” and Yoo Jae-suk replied, “That’s true. You’re younger than me,” making everyone laugh.
Contrary to everyone’s expectations, all members arrived outdoors, but this time the total number of members, including staff, was even at 54, leading the even team to victory. The production team announced, “Those who chose odd will receive an additional penalty ball each,” and they proceeded with a futsal game where running was not allowed. The mission result was a 6 to 1 defeat for Ji Suk-jin’s team.
The losing team, consisting of Yoo Jae-suk, Kim Jong-kook, Haha, Ji Suk-jin, Song Ji-hyo, and Dahyun, moved using a special transportation method, the Seoul tram, while the winning team, Kyuhyun, Yang Se-chan, and Ji Ye-eun, moved to the next location in a warm car.
For the final course, the members came to eat winter snacks, fish cakes, and showed disbelief at the production team’s statement, “The odd-even choice will take place in 30 minutes.” The members played a ‘Global Mafia’ game with penalty balls at stake, and each member received different penalty balls in each game.
As a result of drawing 5 penalty balls, Haha, Yang Se-chan, Ji Ye-eun, and Kyuhyun were selected as the ones to receive penalties, and the four of them carried out a mission to take photos with students who took the college entrance exam this year.
