Singer Park Hyo-shin shared various behind-the-scenes stories related to his songs, including the new track ‘Hero’.

On December 16, Park Hyo-shin released the OST ‘Hero’ for the movie ‘Firefighter’ and appeared on MBC FM4U’s ‘Kim Ina’s Starry Night’ on the 6th, revealing that “I prepared for the vocal recording of this song for a long time, but I felt that the guide version I first sang was the best, so after discussing it with Kim Ina and others, we decided to release the guide version.”

While filming the music video at his own expense, Park Hyo-shin proposed a challenging wire action, showing confidence by saying, “I can do it as long as it looks cool,” but admitted that he wanted to stop as soon as the actual filming began. He also confessed that he had not revealed it until now, but the song was actually created during a difficult time when he decided to retire, shocking his fans.

Regarding ‘Winter Ahead’, which he released with BTS’s V last November, he responded to Kim Ina’s question about whether they felt awkward during the music video shoot, revealing that they filmed it just before V’s enlistment and shared a comfortable conversation, and surprisingly disclosed that they actually drank all the white wine shown on screen, leading to red wine being served. He also realized that both of the recently released songs were guide versions, bringing great laughter to the listeners.

Park Hyo-shin reminisced about the production of the drama ‘Mr. Sunshine’ OST ‘That Day’, expressing his regret that despite receiving high praise from composer Jung Jae-il and being very satisfied with the song, it did not appear in the drama very often. He mentioned that the song ‘Lover’, released in 2019, was inspired by singer Park Sung-yeon, who was known as the matriarch of the Korean jazz scene, as she frequently visited the studio during her illness, wanting to leave behind the song ‘The Wind is Blowing’.

Park Hyo-shin, who usually does not have many broadcasting activities, shared that “Starry Night is comfortable” and entertained fans and listeners with episodes, including expressing jealousy when G-Dragon appeared on the show by contacting Kim Ina.

‘Starry Night’ is the longest-running radio program in South Korea, having first aired on March 17, 1969, with hosts including Lee Soo-man, Lee Moon-sae, Lee Jeok, Ok Joo-hyun, Baek Ji-young, Kangta, Younha, and Sandul, and is currently hosted by lyricist Kim Ina. It can be listened to every night from 10 PM to midnight on MBC FM4U 91.9 MHz and the MBC Smart Radio application Mini.
