The group NewJeans has won the grand prize at the 'Asia Artist Awards (AAA)' for three consecutive years.
On the 27th, NewJeans took home three trophies, including 'Artist of the Year', one of the grand prizes, as well as 'Best Performance' and 'Best Artist' at the '9th Asia Artist Awards (AAA 2024)' held at Impact Challenger Hall in Bangkok, Thailand.
They previously won the Rookie Award and the grand prize ('Performance of the Year') in their debut year of 2022, and in 2023, they swept six categories, including two grand prizes ('Artist of the Year' and 'Song of the Year'), becoming the most awarded artist in the history of the ceremony.
NewJeans stated, "It seems that through the works and music of everyone here, we were able to elevate our emotions during tough or joyful times, making those moments very special. We are happy to spend time with such wonderful artists at the end of the year," and added, "Above all, we are truly grateful for the love and support from our fans, Bunnies. We hope to be together for a long time to come."
Along with the honor of winning, NewJeans heated up the venue with a performance full of their unique free-spirited charm. They caught attention with styling that utilized illustrations of the members, creatively presenting stages for their songs released this year, such as 'Bubble Gum', 'Supernatural', and 'How Sweet', making it impossible to take one's eyes off them.
From the intro, they raised the tension on stage with dancers in a hip-hop vibe. During the following 'Bubble Gum' stage, they amplified their natural charm with refreshing choreography that matched the cool synth sounds.
The winter version of 'Supernatural' maximized the year-end sentiment. While maintaining the original new jack swing style, it added a unique fun with a carol feel. NewJeans showcased their overwhelming presence, breathing with the audience until the final stage of 'How Sweet'.
This year, NewJeans has been active in both Korea and Japan with their double single 'How Sweet' and their Japanese debut single 'Supernatural'. Their released songs have consistently gained popularity on domestic and international charts, and they have been featured in various prestigious media's 'Best K-Pop of 2024' lists announced at the end of the year. NewJeans also proved their strong audience mobilization power by entering Tokyo Dome in the shortest time (1 year and 11 months) as an overseas artist.
Meanwhile, NewJeans will perform today (28th) on NTV's 'Announcement! The Most Played Song of the Year ~Annual Music Awards 2024~', on the 30th on TBS's '66th Japan Record Awards', and on the 31st at MBC's 'Gayo Daechukje', as well as at Japan's largest indoor festival at year-end, 'Countdown Japan 24/25'.
