The group BTS has swept the Spotify year-end summary.
According to the '2024 Wrapped' year-end campaign announced by Spotify, the world's largest music streaming platform, BTS ranked first as the K-Pop artist with the most streams globally this year, with 3.9 billion streams. This marks BTS as the K-Pop artist with the most global streams for seven consecutive years since 2018. BTS also achieved remarkable results with their solo activities. In the global top 10 most streamed K-Pop artists, Jungkook (2nd), Jimin (4th), and V (7th) were ranked.
Among the top 10 most streamed K-Pop songs globally, a remarkable 7 songs were solo tracks by the members. The most played K-Pop song worldwide on Spotify this year was Jimin's solo title track 'Who', followed by Jungkook's first solo single 'Seven (feat. Latto)' (2nd), the title track 'Standing Next to You' from his solo album 'GOLDEN' (3rd), and V's track 'Love Me Again' from his first solo album 'Layover' (4th). V's digital single 'FRI(END)S' (7th), Jimin's solo title track 'Like Crazy' (8th), and Jungkook's second solo single '3D (feat. Jack Harlow)' (9th) also made it to the top ranks.
BTS also dominated the domestic charts. Jimin was selected as the most streamed artist in Korea for two consecutive years, following last year. Jungkook (3rd) and V (5th) also made it into the rankings, and BTS ranked 8th.
Jimin's 'Who' and 'Like Crazy' topped the list of songs most played by Korean users on Spotify, ranking 1st and 2nd respectively. Jimin's solo single 'Closer Than This' and 'Like Crazy (English Version)' ranked 5th and 10th, showcasing the power of the most streamed artist in Korea. Jungkook's 'Standing Next to You' (3rd), 'Seven (feat. Latto)' (4th), '3D (feat. Jack Harlow)' (7th), and V's 'Love Me Again' (8th) also made it into the top 10. Eight out of the top 10 songs on this chart were solo works by BTS members.
Many solo albums by BTS members also ranked high among the most streamed albums in Korea. The most played album was Jimin's 'MUSE'. Jungkook's 'GOLDEN' (2nd) and '3D: The Remixes' (4th) followed, while Suga's solo album 'D-DAY' released as Agust D remained at 8th.
Meanwhile, BTS holds various first and fastest records in K-Pop on Spotify. They are the only K-Pop artist to surpass a cumulative 41 billion streams and the first group in the platform's history to reach the 41 billion milestone. Jimin's 'Who' achieved 1 billion streams in the shortest time among songs released by Korean artists this year, and V became the first K-Pop solo artist to surpass 19 million followers on Spotify. Additionally, Jungkook surpassed 2 billion streams on Spotify with 'Seven (feat. Latto)', making him the first K-Pop artist to achieve this with a single song.
