Seo Subin shared her thoughts on her debut work, ‘The Master of the World’.
On the afternoon of the 15th, a screening and press conference for the film ‘The Master of the World’ was held at CGV Yongsan I-Park Mall in Seoul. Director Yoon Ga-eun and actors Seo Subin and Jang Hye-jin attended.
Seo Subin said, “I was such a big fan of the director even before meeting her. I couldn't contain my excitement when I heard the news about the new project before the meeting.”
She continued, “I auditioned three times. It felt like a blind date; during our first meeting, we had a casual conversation for 20 minutes. The director said she would call me again, but I didn’t believe it. However, I received a call that same day to attend a group audition. They gathered about a dozen actors my age for an impromptu audition in a workshop format.”
Seo Subin shared, “I tried hard to make a good impression, but the director said that whatever I showed wasn’t it. So, I cleared my mind and approached it with a relaxed attitude. After that, we went to an Indian curry restaurant and talked for about two hours about my life. Then we went to a café and talked for another two hours before parting ways. I remember going to receive the script at our next meeting. I still can’t believe it; it feels like a dream even now.”
‘The Master of the World’ tells the story of an enigmatic 18-year-old high school girl who refuses to participate in a signature campaign involving the entire student body and begins to receive mysterious notes. It will be released on the 22nd.
