
Yui drew concern from those around her with her drastic weight loss. Standing at 173cm, she revealed that her weight had dropped to the 40kg range, surprising everyone.
In the episode of tvN ‘Iron Girl Group 2’ that aired on the 12th, Yui, Kim Sae-rok, Park Joo-hyun, and Seol In-ah were shown focusing on their final training before their highly anticipated first boxing competition.
Yui, who aimed to increase her muscle mass, dedicated herself to strength training, but Coach Park Ji-hoon expressed concern, saying, “Yui, your weight is dropping too much.” After exercising 3 to 4 hours a day, she lost 1kg of body fat without gaining any muscle, raising concerns about being underweight.
Yui, who stated, “I currently weigh 51kg,” said, “I will try to eat better,” and Coach Park advised, “Eat more carbohydrates.”
Afterward, Yui focused on gaining weight by eating pork belly, sushi, and egg toast after workouts, saying, “As I eat diligently, my weight is increasing on the scale.”
However, it was not enough. Kim Dong-hyun asked Yui, “Have you succeeded in increasing your muscle mass by 1kg?” and Yui replied, “Please give me one more month. I have done a lot of dieting while being active, but I don’t know how to increase it.”
She expressed, “I have eaten protein to the point of boredom. I can’t do it without exercising. Yet, my muscle mass is still at 23kg, the same as a month ago,” and added, “While exercising, I lost a lot of weight down to 49-50kg. I’m trying to adjust as best as I can.”
Fortunately, Yui overcame her concerns about being underweight by weighing in at 52.7kg.
