Park Chan-wook's new film ‘Nothing Can Be Done’ has won the International Audience Award at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The film ‘Nothing Can Be Done’ received the newly established International Audience Award at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival, which concluded on the 14th.

This newly established award is given to the most popular film among international films, excluding those from Canada and the United States, based on audience votes. It holds special significance as it selects the audience's favorite film ahead of the Oscar voting.

Upon hearing the news of the award, director Park Chan-wook stated, “I wasn't surprised by the news because I saw and heard the enthusiastic reactions of the audience during the official screening. The audience showed the reactions they wanted at every moment. The Toronto audience was the best in the world. I sincerely thank all the staff and volunteers.”

‘Nothing Can Be Done’ tells the story of Mansoo (Lee Byung-hun), an office worker who felt satisfied with life until he suddenly gets fired. To protect his wife and two children, and to keep the home he worked hard to acquire, he prepares for his own war towards re-employment.
