The fortunes of the 'Exit' duo have diverged. Jo Jung-seok has completely taken over the summer box office, while latecomer YoonA has fallen into a slump.
According to the integrated ticketing system of the Korean Film Council on the 19th, the film 'Zombie Daughter' (directed by Pil Gam-seong) attracted 61,236 viewers the previous day, bringing its cumulative audience to 4,582,735.
Released on the 30th of last month, 'Zombie Daughter' depicts a comic drama about a doting father who begins secret training to protect his daughter, who has become the last remaining zombie in the world. It has already comfortably surpassed its break-even point of 2.2 million and is racing ahead.
In 2nd place is the long-running film 'F1: The Movie' (directed by Joseph Kosinski). On the same day, it attracted 36,662 viewers, bringing its cumulative audience to 4,243,474.
'F1: The Movie' tells the story of veteran driver Sonny Hayes, who, unable to become the best, joins the lowest-ranked team and challenges races alongside a genius rookie driver. The film features actors Brad Pitt, Javier Bardem, Kerry Condon, and Damson Idris.
In 3rd place is 'The Devil Has Arrived,' starring YoonA and Ahn Bo-hyun. It attracted 48,561 viewers on its opening day, marking a somewhat disappointing start, and recorded single-digit audience numbers throughout the holiday. It has now dropped to 10,000 viewers, with a cumulative audience of about 285,000. The film's break-even point is approximately 1.7 million.
4th place is held by 'About a Place in Kinki Province,' and 5th place goes to 'Ballerina.'
As of 8 AM that day, the real-time reservation rate is led by 'Demon Slayer: Mugen Train' with a reservation rate of 78.9% and approximately 560,000 tickets sold. Following it are 'F1: The Movie,' 'Zombie Daughter,' and 'The Devil Has Arrived.'
