Yoo Hae-jin revealed the reason for his appearance in ‘Soju War’.
On the morning of the 24th, a production report for the movie ‘Soju War’ was held at Megabox COEX in Seoul. Actors Yoo Hae-jin, Lee Je-hoon, Son Hyun-joo, and Choi Young-jun attended.
Yoo Hae-jin said, “It’s a story centered around soju. Since it’s a story about alcohol, the script was easy to read. I chose it because I liked some human aspects of this character.”
He continued about the character Pyo Jong-rok, saying, “He only thinks about the company,” and added, “I don’t know if he’s an E or an I. He appears to be an ordinary and typical office worker on the outside, but he has strength within. He has stubbornness and conviction. The charm of Pyo Jong-rok is that Son Hyun-joo, who plays the chairman, doesn’t just say yes to everything but also speaks about what the company needs.”
‘Soju War’ depicts the story of Jong-rok, a financial director for a soju company whose life revolves around soju, and In-beom, an employee of a global investment firm that only pursues results, as they confront each other over the fate of soju for the people of South Korea during the 1997 IMF financial crisis. It is set to be released on June 3.
