Professor Jeong Hee-won from the Department of Geriatrics shared his recent updates after leaving the hospital.
On the 4th, Professor Jeong appeared as a guest on MBC Standard FM's radio show 'Women's Era with Yang Hee-eun and Kim Il-jung'.
Professor Jeong is currently hosting 'Jeong Hee-won's Radio Pause', which airs on MBC Standard FM at 11 AM on weekdays. He greeted the DJs saying, "I look forward to working with you," and explained, "'Women's Era' is broadcast from the garden studio on the first floor, but I go up to the 10th floor at 11 AM for a live broadcast. I take the elevator straight up."
Kim Il-jung remarked, "You are called the idol of the medical field. You seem to look younger than last time." Yang Hee-eun mentioned that Professor Jeong had appeared on 'Women's Era' last September and asked, "What has happened since then?"
Professor Jeong replied, "I have improved by sleeping well and eating well," and added, "It's a sensitive topic, but due to the political situation, I had many night shifts. I stayed up all night at the hospital, and my face looked tired."
In response, Kim Il-jung joked, "Now you look fresh and lively."
Professor Jeong shared that he is currently establishing new 'healthy habits'. He said, "I exercised in front of MBC this morning. I usually arrive in Sangam around 7 AM, work out, study, organize my script, and then go to the studio to turn on the lights."
He also mentioned, "I left the hospital as of June 30 and am now working as the Health Coordinator for the City of Seoul while hosting the radio show."
Yang Hee-eun noted that Professor Jeong has widely promoted the concept of 'slow aging' and asked, "Do you think this has contributed to the improvement of public health?"
Professor Jeong reflected, "I faced a lot of challenges. When I talked about slow aging, I often heard responses like 'That's nonsense' or 'How can I do that when I'm busy and struggling?' referring to cases of accelerated aging."
He continued, "However, I felt rewarded when I heard from people who reduced their medications and stabilized their eating habits through positive experiences and a virtuous cycle."
